Why Bookbloom?

I started a blog back in 2009 in the hopes of sharing my favorite things. Books and flowers have always topped that list, so the two combined to create an online presence. I also appreciate alliteration and double 'O' words, so it seemed like a natural fit.

How Do You Choose What Books to feature?

We work primarily with publishers (both small and large) to feature the best in children's literature. In addition, we may uncover a vintage gem through our local library or thrift store and showcase that. Books must fit the scope of our review policy (i.e., be in good condition, use a rich and varied vocabulary, feature illustrations that enhance the text, and add overall value to the body of children's literature). We read each book we receive, however we only highlight those best suited to our audience.

What If I Want My Book Featured?

We ask authors/publishers to first send us a PDF version of the book in question. This can be done via email or NetGalley.  If the book looks like a good fit for our audience, we will be in touch for a physical copy (hardback preferred).

What other services do you offer?

We offer curated book lists featuring anywhere from 6-12 titles per topic. Topics range from animal books for a four-year-old to activity books for a seven-year-old. Similarly, we can custom baby-shower, birthday, or holiday book lists for a small fee.
